About us
The business was born on 2nd Nov 1997 in the Village View Centre on Van Buuren Rd in Bedfordview.
Our opening week was a nightmare, as the delivery of our brand new oak counter and furniture was delayed. We opened the shop using two borrowed trestle tables covered with table cloths as the counter, in front of our shiny new Agfa film processing and printing machine.
Once everything was in place our business slowly grew, with the marketing and advertising assistance provided by Agfa. Soon it was time to take on additional staff, as working till one ‘o clock in the morning began to take its toll. We used to eat our delivered dinner in the shop every evening to save time.
After a few years, we decided to move into the new digital era, with a very fast, very expensive Agfa digital printing machine. Our staff compliment had risen to five and the lab was really busy. Our goal was, and still is, to provide our customers with a quality product. We would often reprint photos before we felt happy to allow them to leave the lab.
Film developing and printing began to wane in the digital age and, in particular, due to the smartphone. We diversified into large format printing, canvas printing, and more recently into scrapbooking, now providing our customers with a broader offering.
Our store re-located to the adjacent Key West Centre in 2012, and we can now be found at 14 Grobler rylaan (off Riley Rd), Bedfordview
